Vasanthkumar began his career in the Labour Department through the KAS examination in 1980, serving across key roles including Labour Officer, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Deputy Labour Commissioner, and Joint Labour Commissioner. After 32 years of distinguished service, he retired in 2012 as CEO of the Karnataka Construction Workers Welfare Board. He has also served as General Manager – HRD & Admin at Mysore Paper Mills, Bhadravati, a Government of Karnataka undertaking.
An industrial relations strategist and labour & wage code expert and coach, Vasanthkumar brings deep expertise in domestic enquiry, standing orders, and labour law compliance. He has conducted over 200 training programmes, webinars, and workshops covering labour codes, the POSH Act, contract labour, and domestic enquiry procedures. He has also served as a resource person at the V.V. Giri National Labour Institute, and across various business schools, workshops, and seminars pan-India.
